| 説明 | I am in the Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur, Nepal, doing my rounds of the place accompanied by a local Bhaktapur guide, something which has been made almost mandatory by the town council. We have now take a short break from the Durbar Square itwelf, to check out a shop selling traditional Nepalese vibrating bowls. (see previous pictures earlier in this album). Despite my limited interest in temples, I was taken in by the brilliang golden shield about the presiding deity in this small and unguarded local rodside temple. My guide was rather apprehensive to shoot me with the temple sanctum in the background as Nepal is very skittish about people taking pictures of temple sanctums- some places even take the extreme step of forcing you to check in your camera gear and leather items at the gate. My interest was peaked when a local lady came in and sat down to prayer. I would not disturb anyone in prayer as a matter of principle, but taking a shot of her, from the outside without disturbing her could have made for a good human interest shot. Sadly, thanks to my guide's apprehensions, and my bright yellow shirt providing too much contrast, hence rendering the temple sanctum in the background rather dark, all I could do was to settle for this ruined shot.
