| 説明 | This is the courtyard of one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in this part of the world. It was set up by Tibetan Buddhist monks escaping from China. Of course, it is no longer in use and the monks have long gone, but the monastery is still kept in mint condition by a very wizened old couple who live in the premises. All the rooms around this courtyard are closed, as they are not in use any more. The gods on display in this facility are a heady mix of Hindu and Buddhist. This ancient monastery appears to have survived the devastating 2015 earthquake fairly intact. I has seen some recent repair and restoration works though, judging from the smell of fresh paint and varnish mixing with the smell of incense in the place.
