| 説明 | This album is posted on 19 Mar 2020 as an antidote to all the bad news about Covid-19 in Italy, and Venice in particular. The photographs were made at what should have been a high point of Carnival. Unfortunately, the day before Shrove Tuesday Italy shut down Carnival celebrations, including in Venice. Venetians complied with the ban for the most part. but gondoliers continued to work.For my family's part, we arrived as the full force of the outbreak was just beginning to strike Italy. It was our good fortune to be able see and enjoy our planned itinerary with only one or two cancellations, and to arrive back home in good health.All best wishes for good health go to the Italian people as they deal with the virus.
