| 説明 | In March 2020 we are seeing the effects of the Covid-19 (Corona virus ) crisis coupled with an oil price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia. A world glut on oil has created prices to tumble and a price of $.89/litre at the Cloyne Shell Station. The same day prices were $.78 in Kingston on March 17th. We may never again see prices this low. The Canadian Dollar fell to below $.70 - a 4 year low.Note: on March 22, 2020 the price has fallen to $.789/litreHoarding of hand sanitizer, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, bleach and other products has started, even gasoline by some. No one knows at this point the length of the crisis or long term effects on the economy. In the Cloyne area many seasonal residents have returned for an extended stay at the cottage to isolate themselves from the urban centres.
