| 説明 | Today I only walked along a section of the North Circular. I started at Phoenix Park and when I arrived at Hanlon's Corner I got a 46A bus to O'Connell Street.The North Circular Road is a busy thoroughfare on the north-side of Dublin, in Ireland. The road was long been considered the northern boundary of the city and still separates the city centre from the inner suburbs. It runs from Phoenix Park in the west through Phibsboro [Phibsborough], to the North Wall in the east. A number of important institutions are located along the road, including the Mater Hospital, Dalymount Park and Mountjoy Prison, and both Croke Park and St. Brendan's Hospital are nearby. The R101 and the NCR overlap for most of their lengths, and the entire NCR forms a section of the R101. In the west the R101 connects the NCR to Parkgate Street via the short Infirmary Road ; at the eastern end the R101 becomes Portland Row after the junction with Summerhill. It continues the northern loop through Saville Place , then turning east for its final kilometre via Sheriff Street (Upper) before terminating at North Wall Road (the R131).Several notable junctions in Dublin city in Ireland still carry the name of the pub or business which once occupied the corner but because of the pace of re-development I am not certain that the original source of the name may still exist. I need to visit the locations listed below:Baker's Corner at the junction of Rochestown Avenue and Kill Lane in Deansgrange;Doyle's Corner at the junction of the North Circular Road (R135 / R147) and Phibsborough Road (R135) in Phibsborough;Hanlon's Corner at the junction of the North Circular Road (R101) with Prussia Street and the Old Cabra Road (both R805);Hart's Corner at the junction of Botanic Road, Finglas Road, and Prospect Road (all R135) in Glasnevin;[2]Kelly's Corner at the junction of the R114 road (Upper Camden Street and Richmond Street) and the South Circular Road (Harrington Street and Harcourt Road);Leonard's Corner at the junction of the South Circular Road and Clanbrassil Street;Vaughan's Corner at the junction of the N81 road (Terenure Road North and Terenure Place) and the R114 road (Terenure Road East and Rathfarnham Road) in Terenure. |
