| 説明 | Hiroshima totally annihilated by the USA's atom bomb in 1945- picture 4 of 13: Detailed notes about the USA's atom bomb attack over Hiroshima and other details appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures) This is the Genbako dome soon after the bombing. This was in fact the only building still left standing after the USA dropped the atom bomb on the city. The building, which was designed by a Czech architect in 1915, had been used as the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. The American atom bomb flattened most of Hiroshima and wiped out much of the local population, many of them innocent civilians, including women and children. Just a few more sad shots before we move on to happier things. A brilliantly executed video simulating the bombing appeared immediately before this. (see previous picture).
