説明 | Picea abies 'Raraflora Weeper' (Raraflora Nursery, PA) 2019 photo - Common Name: Ground Cover Norway Spruce, Size at 10 years: 1x6ft., Dark Green needles, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, In Garden Bed HR-Q for 24.8 YEARS (HLG). Planted in 1995.ACS: Picea abies 'Raraflora Weeper' is a completely prostrate, ground-covering selection of Norway spruce that will form a flat mat of dense, uniform branches and dark-green needles. It's overall structure is similar to that of Picea pungens 'Gotelli Prostrate,' but is green in color. Terminal buds advance at an annual rate of 6 to 8 inches (15 - 20 cm). After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will measure 6 feet (2 m) wide, and less than 12 inches (30 cm) high. The most attractive and famous mature specimen of this cultivar lives in the ACS Reference Garden at Hidden Lake Gardens, Tipton, Michigan. That plant was included among a batch of plants donated by Justin "Chub" Harper early in the garden's installation. Given the name, it clearly originated at Fred Bergman's Raraflora nursery, Feasterville, Pennsylvania.Location: Michigan State University, Hidden Lake Gardens, Tipton, MI.
