説明 | Pinus banksiana 'Chippewa' (Arnold Arboretum, 1979) 2019 photo - Common Name: Dwarf Jack Pine, Size at 10 years: 1x2ft., Bright green needles, USDA Hardiness Zone x, In Garden Bed HR-S for 11.8 YEARS (HLG). Planted in 2008.ACS: Pinus banksiana 'Chippewa' is an irregular, low, bushy dwarf selection of Jack pine with short, bright-green foliage that forms a low cushion of short needled, upward facing shoots. After 10 years of growth, a mature specimen will stand 12 inches (30 cm) tall and twice as wide, suggesting a rate of growth of an inch (2.5 cm) or less per year.This cultivar originated as one of four seedlings selected in 1979 by Humphey Welch and Al Fordham from a seedling lot at the Arnold Arboretum, Boston, Massachusetts. They were all named for native American tribes, 'Manomet,' 'Neponset' and 'Wisconsin' being the other three.Location: Michigan State University, Hidden Lake Gardens, Tipton, MI.
