On August 15, 1910 Clarence Poe embarked on a trip to Japan, Korea, Manchuria, China, Burma, India, returning to the United States on February 15, 1911. Album: China and Southeast Asia. In keeping with Poe's writing for and management of the Progressive Farmer, the photographs that he collected and his journal entries reflect his ongoing interest in agricultural, industrial, cultural, and social conditions abroad and in comparing and contrasting them with his native North Carolina. |
