| 説明 | As part of our Ohu Hāpori work, the team has just listed 90 Māori Land Deeds from the Whanganui and Taranaki districts [MA-WANG6 or Series 18745: collections.archives.govt.nz/web/arena/search#/item/aims-.... The two boxes of deeds covering the purchase and lease of land from Māori previously had no listings and no dates, but are now described individually at an item level and note names, the existence of te reo Māori, land blocks, rivers and place names. Many of the deeds are associated with land blocks around the Whanganui, Whangaehu, Mangawhero, Patea, and Waitotara Rivers, as well as areas in Rangitikei. Some have detailed maps with interesting features, such as the location of the Taupō Bridle Track, wetlands, native reserves, and kainga. One item is an unsigned and uncompleted deed for the blocks below the peaks of Tongariro and Ruapehu.
