| 説明 | This is a photograph from the 3rd Annual Clonard 4 Mile Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Clonard Village, Co. Meath, Ireland on Saturday 14th September 2019 at 10:00. The race starts and finishes at St. Finian's GAA Park in Clonard Village with parking and race HQ in the adjacent GAA facilities. The race is organised to raise funds for the ongoing development of both the infrastructure and games development of Clonard GAA. The race was held in glorious September sunshine along a well known running and walking route around the village. The four mile distance is somewhat unique these days but is very suited to the layout of the roads in Clonard as it allows the race to start and finish in the safety of the GAA grounds away from the busy R148 road. The race features two significant hills over the M6/M4 motorway. Otherwise the route is fair and a good test of runners of all abilities. The Clonard GAA club and community organised the race to the highest standard with excellent marshaling and traffic management in place (with thanks to the local Gardai). There was also a wonderful spread of refreshments provided in the GAA club house afterwards. |
