説明 | Peleş Castle hides among the trees in the Bucegi Mountains (part of the Southern Carpathians), a popular resort area.Peleş Castle was built alongside Peleş Creek in a Bavarian style as a summer retreat for King Carol I and his wife Elisabeta (the novelist ‘Carmen Sylva’). The foundation was laid in 1873 CE and the official Royal Ball of Inauguration was held in 1883 CE. The first European castle to have electricity, it also boasted of such modern conveniences as hot and cold running water, central heating, and a central vacuum system. Later additions such as the towers were made between 1893 and 1914 CE. The 160 rooms are richly decorated. On Google Earth:Peleş Castle 45°21'35.42"N, 25°32'33.54"E |
