| 説明 | A family relaxes under an almost threadbare sakura (cherry blossom) tree in the east gardens of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Japan. Of course there are trees with better blooms elsewhere on the property and I got plenty of sakura in full bloom in the Shinjuku Gyoen the following day (see subsequent images later in this album, but this one ws an isolated tree on this patch. A cherry blossom is a flower of several trees of genus Prunus. The most well-known species is the Japanese cherry, Prunus serrulata, which is commonly called sakura They are widely distributed, especially in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere including Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Mainland China, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Myanmar, Thailand and West Siberia.
