説明 | The ambo is the most obvious intervention in the Cathedral by Giuliano Vangi. The central void, which evokes the sepulcher left free by the Risen Christ, is flanked by an announcing Angel and the Tree of Life. On one of the internal sides, instead, we can see a bas-relief depicting the Dead Jesus .On Sunday, 22 April 2012, the new presbytery of the Cathedral of San Donato was inaugurated. It is the result of a careful study aimed at recovering the original conception of the Gothic building, also through the three fundamental furnishings of the liturgy: the altar, the ambo and the episcopal chair. The three works were made by Giuliano Vangi, a Florentine artist of world renown, known to most for his interventions in the cathedrals of Pisa and Padua and for being the first western artist to have a permanent museum dedicated in Japan |
