説明 | One thing that is so cool in the big city, is not just the buildings, but also the reflections of other things in the buildings. Plus, there is nothing like laying back on the chaise lounger and then watching the strange cloud formations float overhead, as the sun breaks through. We usually take the train (VIA Rail) but they were talking about a strike so we decided to drive, and it was very nice. We hit customs on the Canadian side on Sunday morning and the line was very low, and even Saturday afternoon customs going back on the American side was good. If you do not hit this just right, you can wait in customs for hours and hours, on the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit. If it looks bad with a long line, take the tunnel. The roads were clean, wide, and smooth, which made for a very nice relaxing trip. I first rode the Toronto Subway at a District Convention in 1966, 44 years ago. It is still a super fast way to travel, although we got to see some very odd things this time. We seen them evacuate an entire train for some unknown reason to all the riders dismay at rush hour, and then later while we were riding they had to shutdown all the trains because they lost the computer showing the trains locations. People went scrambling off the train to catch taxi cabs if they could not wait. The trains come flying in so fast the air flow will almost take the newspaper right out of your hands. Next year they will be adding all new trains, but it still looked very clean to me. We tried to get photos of the buildings, the people, what they call Fresh Wednesday, Tasty Thursday, and the underground city called PATH along with the subway. |
