| 説明 | Photograph of U.S. Army soldiers standing around outside on the terrace of a house identified as “Villia Maria” (identification by Pickett) in Germany during World War II. Master Sgt. Luther A. Pickett of Lexington, N.C., and his fellow servicemen were living there prior to his unit, the 79th Field Artillery Group, U.S. Army, crossed the Rhine River. A military vehicle is pictured parked below the terrace. Description on the back of the photograph reads: ““Villia Maria”. Germany.” Description in the photo album reads: “VILLIA MARIA—A lovely house inside. It sits on top of a hill. We stayed here before we crossed the Rhine.
