| 説明 | During filming of a BBC appeal for MAG, Victoria Wood meets Nam, a scrap dealer in the town of Phonsavan, Xieng Khouang province, Lao PDR. Nam buys decommissioned UXO (unexploded ordnance) among ordinary scrap. Sometimes, as Victoria discovered, there will be live items among the now safe items of UXO. Scrap metal has over the last few years been a valuable source of income for many of Lao PDR's poorest people, but 'harvesting' UXO from the field is highly dangerous. By law, Nam cannot buy live UXO.
