| 説明 | A flood of correspondence regarding mayors was received by the Justice Department on 11 May 1914.Throughout New Zealand 96 mayors had been sworn in. The resulting paperwork on each successful candidate was carefully collated and has been retained to the present day – a bonus for anyone who might happen to be interested in the people of local government in 1914.
