説明 | I realized, upon looking at this picture, a day or so after I took it, that part of what entertains me about taking pictures is a continual challenge/response. a cycle of becoming bored and then pushing the limits of what I can do. so... I guess. I enjoy taking pictures that are hard to take. paradoxically. somewhat.for example: this picture is taken at night, from about four blocks away, handheld, as I was crossing the street. why? no idea. I could have gone over closer, and in fact: other than the absurdity of the circumstances, there's nothing interesting about this picture. I suppose there was no other way to get the foreshortening, but that's not what I was trying for. I was trying to see what the limits of my camera were.offhand: this was at iso6400 with a 500mm mirror lens (no IS/OS, fixed f8.0) on a canon t1i.what I decided/gleaned from this experiment was that for the camera to 'see' what I see through the viewfinder, I needed to shoot at about 1/10 of a second at iso6400, and with this focal length, that's not possible. too much blur. but: it's getting really close. where the camera will be able to capture anything I can see (I have pretty good eyes). --I'm guessing my next nice camera will be better than me. |
