| 説明 | Creator: Staff PhotographerSeattle Post-IntelligencerDescription: During some western Washington winters, heavy rains and melting snow cause widespread flooding in the river valleys. In this January 1946 photo, the White River has overflowed its banks and flooded the town of Thomas, near Kent. The view looks east on S. 277th and B St. N.W. The building on the far left was a general store, and structure in the left background was Pierre dairy. The two-story building on the right was a Japanese school. None of these buildings exist today, and the road is now the S277th valley bypass.View source image.More information on the commercial rights for this photo.Part of King County SnapshotsUniversity of Washington Libraries.Brought to you by IMLS Digital Collections and Content.Unrestricted access; use with attribution. |
