The pallbearers put the coffin onto a carriage while uniformed men stand respectfully in the background, one touching the peak of his cap as a mark of respect.Serge Basset was a pseudonym used by Paul Ribon, a dramatist, novelist and journalist who was covering the war on the Western Front for the 'Petit Parisien.'
