説明 | Today was memorial day, Monday, and my day off. This means I slept til 12:30 in the afternoon and lazed around my room for the 3 hours after waking up. I had no idea what I was doing for today's shot until I found treasure in the dumpster. They say one man's trash is another man's treasure, right? Well looks like somebody's grandparents house had thrown up into the dumpster. I found everything from a mickey mouse camera, to toy real-life-looking guns, to an Ed-U-Kit on rocks and minerals from 1962, to a pair of old glasses that made me dizzy for an hour after I took them off, to a book from 1951 entitled How To Make Good Pictures... which I am reading here at the table along with my new friend who lives up on the fifth floor of my building. Her, her mom, my mom and I spent at least an hour and a half going through all the stuff. We even found lots of personal letters and bills. It was so strange yet interesting going through somebody's life like that. To discover such personal things in the trash of a person and life from the past makes you really get to know them even though you don't even know what color hair they have (unless you find a picture of them). Also, I know that this involves another person and this is supposed to be a self portrait project but I feel like this will be too boring if I don't occasionally add another human besides me into the frame! Two calendar days ba ba ba baand still my life is the sameand other people's have changedI wonder what if im too lateall the times that I said I would just wait?and yeah does anyone careabout us here or anywhere?-The Rocket Summer, TV Family8/365 |
