| 説明 | We were never supposed to land there in that lost little airport of Luton, and because of this rerouting of our British Airways Nantes/London-Heathrow, we lost that day our British Airways connecting flight to the USA from Heathrow, where we should have landed earlier, but Heathrow had been closed for a security problem in their control tower, just before our landing. Shit happens.Still, as we had been seated after the landing for something like one hour or more, the British Airways pilot told us that our flight was not delayed anymore (he had first told us that the stop in Luton was only for refueling, so we had been waiting for that), but that our flight was now "cancelled", and they eventually got rid of us in Luton.After a few hours in Luton, queuing for our luggage and then to be admitted in the UK, and not knowing what would happen next, because BA has no desk or employees in that little airport where their planes never land usually, British Airways finally barely granted us a bus transfer to Heathrow, but there did nothing to find us a decent accommodation for the night, and, in the following months, refused to pay or offer any kind of compensation for the troubles we had been through. At least, and because we asked and asked again, to many different BA employees who kept throwing the hot potato to one another, and queued for hours here and there and everywhere before desks where they couldn't find a solution, or desks which closed for the night just when we were about to reach them, and phoned dozens of times to non-answering or Vivaldi playing 24/7 numbers, first that same night, with no result, and again early the following day, after a short and most uncomfortable night spent on the ground of the basement of an hotel in Heathrow, among hundreds of other people in the same situation, eventually some BA employee on the phone found another flight to the USA for us.Our stay in the USA was shortened by one day because of this misadventure, and there were some other collateral damages for us, but we saw queuing with us some other people from Germany, initially heading to South Africa, who had no other possibility of connection before one week, and who had lost their whole vacation. |
