| 説明 | I am now at a family temple in Ubud, Bali as a special guest at a ceremony to install a new 'barong' at the temple. A barong is a demon like creature which is considered a good luck charm and something that fights evil. (see previous pictures earlier in this album for detailed notes). The barong has been put in place and the priest has taken his place and is preparing to bless the barong. Meantime here, guests are getting ready as well, and a local girl goes around distributing incense sticks to her close relatives and family for use during prayers. I did not get one of course, this is purely prayer paraphernalia for family only. (Bali, Indonesia, May 2018) |
