説明Photographer: UnidentifiedLocation: Charleville, Queensland, AustraliaDescription: Maude Rose (Lores) Bonney was a member of the Queensland Aero Club. In 1931, she was the first female pilot to fly the longest one day flight by a female pilot (Brisbane-Wangaratta 1600 km). In 1932, she was the first woman to circumnavigate Australia by air around Australia, using her own Gypsy Moth, DH 60G VH-UPV.In 1933, she flew the same plane from Brisbane, Australia to Croydon in the United Kingdom, a distance of 20,000 km making her the first woman to fly from Australia to England.In 1937, she flew the first flight from Australia to South Africa, piloting a Klemm L32-V VH-UVE from Brisbane to Cape Town. World War II put an end to her flying achievements. Lores Bonney died in 1994 at the age of 96 at her home at Miami, a suburb on Queensland's Gold Coast.
