説明 | I was in town on Saturday dropping my son off and pulled my Leica out to put it on for a wander round town and this guy shouted at me "Who are you..David Bailey?" He has a Scottish accent so I shouted back in my best Glaswegian and he immediately doubled back to talk.We ended up spending half an hour standing on the street talking, Martin was a homeless although currently housed by a charity. He lost his wife in February and lost his home, he ended up back on smack as in his own words sometimes it's easier to go back to what you know. Martin was a lively guy and happy to talk about his life and share his stories with me. We talked about Scotland, addiction, family, loss, good times, bad times and how to cope when things are bad. I wanted to buy him some food but the shop he uses was closed but he told me where he normally begs and I am planning to catch up for lunch in the next week. This shot was taken in natural light with no reflector in keeping with the reportage style I am seeking when shooting with my Leica.Thank you Martin for sharing your life, time and ultimately for sharing your self with me for a portrait.
