| 説明 | On Friday 27 July I inspected the route of the Upfield shared use bike path at Campbellfield. After the Level Crossing Removal at Camp Road which the LXRA failed in providing cycling infrastructure from the Western Ring Road path to Camp Road, Victrack is continuing work along the rail corridor.I saw some PVC piping and trench digging equipment on the VicTrack easement on July 17 and started ringing around to determine who and what this work was for. On July 26 a Metro Trains person confirmed this was for upgrade of cabling and signaling between Gowrie and Upfield Stations. This is pretty major work putting in an access track from Sunshine street up to Barry Road and putting in new cabling. This is a likely route of the Upfield bike path. So why isn't VicRoads integration team talking to VicTrack about incorporating construction of a bike path as part of this work?Hume Council estimated in 2010 the cost of constructing this bikepath was $1.5 million, but VicTrack is already doing route work for cabling that could form the basis of construction of the Upfield bike path.upfieldbikepath.wordpress.com/ |
