| 説明 | This is a photograph from the first organisation of the Rosemount 10KM and Half Marathon which took place in the picturesque village of Rosemount, Moate, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Saturday 13th of October 2018 at 10:00. Both races started and finished at Rosemount Community Center and Rosemount GAA beside the beautiful village of Rosemount which is located around 6 miles north east of Moate. Almost 500 participants took part in both races. The routes for both races were fair but contained some challenging sections with hills. The route was mainly run on very quiet rural roads. A distinctive part of both races was the usage of the Athlone-Mullingar Greenway called "The Old Rail Trail" for several miles (over 4miles in the case of the half marathon). This section of greenway travels along the old railway corridor between Athlone and Mullingar with the railway line still in place beside the greenway pathway. The weather was reasonably suitable for running. There were some heavy showers of rain which appeared over the morning which was mostly a wet damp morning overall. Temperatures were around 12C with little or no wind/breeze to speak of. This made for pleasant running conditions given the recent windy and stormy conditions in Ireland in the days leading up to the race. Overall, the organisation of the race was excellent. There were lots of stewards at every junction. The course was very well marked with direction indicators on the road and on signs. The stewards and motorcycle outriders controlled traffic flow very well. A very large spread of refreshments were provided in the Community Hall after the race. Electronic Timing and event management were provided by MyRunResults.
