The former building society was taken over by Banco Santander (formerly Banco Santander Central-Hispano) in 2004, but had kept the name Abbey while adopting Santander's logo.In 2009, Banco Santander decided to rename all its British banks (Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley) Santander Bank.I recently bought a badge / pin from eBay with the old Abbey National name and logo. With its origins as two building societies, Abbey National's old logo featured the roof of a house. |
