説明 | Snapshot of “King Neptune’s Court,” which consisted of U.S. Navy sailors dressed up in costumes, aboard the transport ship the USS General J. H. McRae (AP-149). The men were participating in the ship’s Neptunus Rex ceremonies, which commemorated a sailor’s first crossing of the Equator, on November 29, 1944, while the McRae was sailing in the Pacific Ocean at 0 degrees latitude and 174W degrees longitude during World War II.
