説明 | The James River loops east of Yankton, South Dakota before joining the Missouri River, which forms the border with Nebgraska, below. Featured here is WNAX/570's 911-foot tower, which provided huge coverage (see the map at then end of this set), due both to the tower itself (at 190° of a wavelength, it concentrates maximum energy along the ground) and the ground conductivity, which is unusually high in the prairie region of North America. WNAX does this with only 5000 watts, which is 1/10th the maximum in the U.S. and Canada. My mother grew up listening to WNAX at her family's home in Napoleon, North Dakota, 277 air miles away from Yankton. |
