| 説明 | A magnificent, unrestored court tomb. The cairn was originally 57m long. The central court, over 20m long and 10m wide is the largest known in an Irish Court tomb. At either end of the court was a burial gallery, composed of a pair of large roofed chambers. In addition there were four single burial chambers. I can't find a clear estimate of its age but Michael Herity writes of "5,000 years' old." There are some tremendous photos of it at irishantiquities.bravehost.com/donegal/farranmacbride/far... This is only a short distance away from the route of the Turas Colmcille. |
