説明 | 22 November 2009. At the eastern end of Carbuncle Passage a narrow alley runs across land owned by Network Rail. It leads to a footbridge giving walkers access to Tottenham Marshes, the River Lee, and the Lee Valley Regional Park. ----- Original Message ----- From : Alan Stanton, Tottenham Hale ward councillorTo : Frontline Members cc : Cllrs Reith and ThompsonSent : Wednesday, November 25, 2009 10:01 AMSubject : Tottenham Marshes - Access via Carbuncle Passage N17Please see three photos I took on Sunday 22 November and posted on Flickr.I've also attached an aerial photo of the area from Google Maps. The photos show the eastern end of Carbuncle Passage N17. I reported the dumping; and now want to raise the issue of the overgrown Network Rail land. As you can see in the photos, a narrow alleyway runs through the fenced-off land owned by Network Rail. This is about nine metres long and leads to a footbridge which is one of the few access routes from Tottenham into Tottenham Marshes and the Lee Valley Regional Park. The bridge crosses the mainline railway; and Watermead Way - part of the A1055 road, linking Tottenham Hale Station with the North Circular Road. As one photo shows, this land is heavily overgrown. Dense overgrown vegetation currently creates a 'green screen' preventing someone seeing the area behind it. The narrow alley is also overshadowed. This is likely to be deterrent to anyone thinking of using this route to the marshes. [...] (1) Can you please contact Network Rail and insist that they urgently cut down or remove the vegetation - in the interest of both public safety and encouraging people to use a Regional park. This is not the first time I've complained about their failure to maintain this area; with overgrowth obscuring access to and from the footbridge. (2) Can you also ask Network Rail to add this task to their regular maintenance schedule, so they don't need nagging every time.____________________________________________________ ◄◄ First photo ││ Next photo in this set ►§ Website of the Lee Valley Regional Park.§ Wikipedia link for Moselle Brook.§ Wikipedia link for Pymmes Brook§ Aerial photo from Google Maps |
