説明 | Description: Corporal Charles Overstreet was the photographer and radioman for the Headquarters Radio Unit of the 252nd Field Artillery Battalion. This unit served as part of the Ninth Army in Germany during World War II. The unit`s first stop on the way to Germany was England. They arrived in England in August of 1944. They camped at Camp Knook on the William Penn Estate in Heytesbury, England until October, when the unit was sent to Omaha Beach, France. This is a photo he took of Elmer Krantz, a fellow unit member, and an unknown soldier on the boat that took them across the English Channel to Omaha Beach.
