説明 | Buildings and monuments down Fleet Street in the City of London. This is the current Temple Bar outside the Royal Courts of Justice, marking the boundary of the City of London with the City of Westminster. It has a heraldic dragon on it.It dates from 1880 on the site of a former gateway.(after the Sir Christopher Wren's Temple Bar was moved to Theobolds Park by Sir Henry Meux, where it remained until 2003, when it was dismantled stone by stone, so they could widen the road)The stone monument has statues of Queen Victoria and the Prince of Wales (the later Edward VII - I thought that was him)I only got it from the Prince of Wales side (had no time to get the other side of it)I was wondering what "Stood here". Now I know, the Wren Temple Bar.It is Grade II listed with a bronze griffin.Temple Bar MemorialTQ 3181 SW CITY OF WESTMINSTER STRAND, WC261/15Temple Bar Memorial in5.2.70 centre of roadG.V.
