説明 | The Bromley 6, built in Manukau City from 1934 to 1937, was one of the most stunning examples of New Zealand anti gravity vehicles. It reached a top speed of 104 mph, measured on a clear day off the west coast, and was able to climb to 6220 feet , where it could travel at a constant speed of 80 mph for 3 hours and 12 minutes before requiring refuelling. Designed by the Canadian industrial designer Maurice Arquette, this vehicle became one of the most sought after collector's items in the early Naughties, when a desperately derelict Bromley 6 found in a shed in Moeraki, Otago, fetched NZ$ 73.453 in an online auction. |
