| 説明 | The highly decorative backing of a Carte de Visite from the long established family firm of Luke Berry & Son of the Excelsior Studio Chapel Street (no 27 I think) , Chorley Lancashire. Luke Berry was a member of the Royal Photographic Society and often exhibited in London. I like the medal awarded in Falmouth in 1884 by the Royal Cornwall Politechnic Society (sic) founded by the remarkable Quaker Fox family of Falmouth, who in fact coinded the term Polytechnic in Britain.No doubt Luke Berry's winning photograph is contained within the Annual Reports of the society.
