| 説明 | Former almshouses in Highgate, near Camp Hill. Now the Ravenhurst Cottages.Lench's Trust Almshouses are Grade II listed buildings. It dates from 1849, an almshouse close of red brick with atone dressings, in Jacobean style. Designed by J H Hornblower and Haylock - similar to the same architects almshouses in Ladywood.(personal note - I've seen the other almshouse next to the old Children's Hospital - and looking at someone elses pic of that - it looks the same).It is on Ravenhurst Street, off Camp Hill. It consists of numbers 1 to 36, and 35 to 38 Ravenhurst Street, including The Lodge. It was formerly listed as Lenches Trust Almshouses and Lodge under Camp Hill.On two of the end wings are richly decorated with tripartite panels containing inscription, surmounted the chimney stacks.Lench's Trust Almshouses - Heritage Gateway |
