| 説明 | Milky way 17/03/2018Hey, I’m looking for the Milky Way!Last night’s early season foray in fumbling around in total darkness seeking out the magical Milky Way. As usual it was a battle of stay at home on the couch and go to bed, or head out and stand under the stars finding compositions and enjoying the sense of total silence and whatever else might be awake or disturbed and trying to not jump out of your skin in fright. As always, getting out and being on this planet under the stars is always worth it in the end.This photo is a single image, as nearly all of my images are. Processed in Rawtherapee which has one of the best noise reduction modules in my mind.This image was taken out near the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve on Paddys River Road. I keep saying it to anyone who will listen, or even not listen, that Canberra really is a hidden gem with its location and natural elements right on its back door step. I left home around 1130 and was back by 0140 with a few shots in the bag and a nothing more than a 20-30 minute drive to dark enough skies. Yes, the light pollution from the bottom left at the horizon blending into the core is Canberra, but it tends to work for me and I excuse it given I have such close proximity to dark enough skies. |
