| 説明 | I did a parallell tasting session of the 9,5% abv Wild Dog barrel-aged imperial porter from Flying Dog and the 9,4% abv Lava smoked imperial porter from Ölvisholt Brugghús in Selfoss, south east of Reykjavik on Iceland. I had tried the Lava before and now wanted to match it against the Wild Dog. Lava had a rich flavor of chocolate, roasted malt and - of course - smoke. It may feel a bit too sweet for some but had a nice overall balance and a good mouthfeel with a fairly long aftertaste of roasted malt. Compared directly with Wild Dog, it felt both richer and stronger - I was quite surprised. Lava is a world class beer from Iceland! |
