| 説明 | With earthquake repairs complete, and submissions currently being taken by the Christchurch City Council on the future use of Harry Ell’s glorious Sign of the Takahe building (www.ccc.govt.nz/culture-and-community/heritage/heritagebu...), we thought that it was the ideal time to showcase these lovely images of its original construction, found inside one of our Public Works Department Christchurch files. Taken in the late 1930s, they give an indication of the incredible craftsmanship of the stonemasons, many of whom worked on the project under government-funded Depression relief schemes.
