説明 | 23 the movieSee that row of houses?Yeah!!!Did you know there are 23 skylight windows in that row? So?Well William S. Burroughs had a thing about the number 23.And?He tells the story of meeting a ferry captain named Clark who claimed to have sailed the same route without an accident for 23 years. That very day, however, the ferry sank. Burroughs was thinking about Clark's ferry accident when he heard that a Flight 23 on a New York-Miami route had crashed. According to Burroughs, the pilot's name for the flight had also been Clark. Burroughs began collecting incidences of the number 23 in a scrapbook and referred to them in his writings.Funny you should say that. I was in Corals making small bets and loosing everything. I went up to Roy behind the counter and asked him what he fancied in the next race, and he gave me a horse ridden by Tony Dobbin. Dobbin/Horse... I'll have that for a laugh and had a fiver on it. It won. I went and collected my winnings and Roy said "You should always listen to the King". His name was Roy King. There was only one race to go before they closed up shop and I went and studied the form. There was a trainer called R.King and the nag he was putting out had never won a race. The price was 23/1. I bet a fiver each way and five minutes later collected my winnings of £149. I gave Roy a tenner and said "Thank you very much Mr King". £149 is that right... if you ad those digits together you get 23.... but do you know I dreamt once that James Stewart straight out of "It's a wonderful life" came up to me and said "Daddies Hobby, if you see a horse called Daddies Hobby, bet on him". I'm still looking for that damn horse. |
