説明 | This was taken in 1898. See the notes for identification.I love my great-grandfather in this picture. Everyone else is so serious, but he's obviously the dashing young troublemaker. You can also see him in the 1930s and the 1950s.This was taken at the family farmhouse in Redford, Michigan, which I believe was on Grand River between 7 and 8 Mile Road. If you're familiar with the area today, that's a funny thought. The old lady in the picture, my great-great-great-grandmother, once encountered a bear when she was a young girl in Redford (she said to the bear, "if you're not afraid of me, I'm not afraid of you," and both continued on their separate ways); that was at what is now the corner of Telegraph & Schoolcraft. |
