説明 | This is a section of the War Memorial Wall with the names of the 63 City of Tonawanda men who lost their lives fighting for their country in WWII. Warren Muck, Robert Niland and his brother Platoon leader Lt. Preston Niland are in historian author Stephen Ambrose book "Band of Brothers". The movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on the Niland Brothers. Actor Richard Speight Jr. played Sgt. Warren Muck in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers". This wall is around 100 yards away from the Niagara River, which, Sgt. Warren Muck in one episode played by Speight was bragging about swimming across the Niagara River. Aviation Cadet Bernard Mix died of natural causes at Majors Field, TX on 18 JAN 1943. Sgt Warren Muck was killed in The Battle of The Bulge on 10 JAN 1945. The Niland brothers were killed at Normandy in June of 1944. Pvt William J. Patrick was killed in an auto accident at Camp Shelby, MS on 4 OCT 1944. Lt Robert G Reid was killed in a C-47 crash in Indochina on 19 DEC 1944.
