| 説明 | * * * * * * * *The Mens St Mellion Club Championships was completed two and a half months late on 07/10/2017 after two false starts.It was originally due to be played on 22/07/2017 but an unfortunate cancellation due to rain the previous week saw a perfectly good weekend with a glorious sunny day on Sunday wasted. The first day of the rearranged competition took place on 23/09/2017 then fog and rain rolled in on the second day and another inappropriate decision was made at the eleventh hour to cancel the competion.So the Club Championships second day finally went ahead but unfortunately the weather turned on us again with fog, drizzle, mist and heavy rain on the forecast. It turned out slightly better than the previous rearranged day but not much.However, it seems like good golf prevailed in the end with St Mellion's top golfer David Sleat clinching the win to complete his Club Championship hat-trick. It had taken a 3 hole play-off to decide it, Cameron Kenworthy was runner-up and the third player Martyn Hunkin took the Handicap Champion Trophy.The St Mellion Ladies decided to rearrange their Club Championships second day on a diffent day altogether. Another strange decision which diluted the main event of the year even further. The gallery count for the Captain's speech stood at 14 people!This cannot be allowed to happen again.
