| 説明 | There were surprisingly very few Chinese tourists in Azerbaijan. Not that I have anything against them, but things can get a bit overwhelming when they appear in hordes at every tourist spot, stuffed into several buses. Things get a bit exasperating when their guide starts screaming into a mic for a pretty loud cacophony of instructions through the sharp sounds of a neck strung plastic loudspeaker, which seems to be a standard feature of most Chinese tour groups. And yes, before anyone flames me, been there, done that- I HAVE been to China and have really enjoyed my time there tremendously. (but for the surging crowds and guides screaming into the microphone!). Here a Chinese tourist eyes me suspiciously as I raise my camera to get a couple of people shots. There were more Korean tourists in Azerbaijan during my visit than the Chinese. (Sheki, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017) |
