| 説明 | We reached Lahic at noon, when the sun was at it's zenith. That plus the dark stone buildings heating up made the place uncomfortably hot. The flagstones on the streets which were sloping upwards was no help either. Still, I could see quite a few tourists about, despite the treacherous road to get here and the intense heat. One thing I noticed about Lahic is that much of the population is fairly old. Many from the younger generation seem to have moved out to seek their fortunes in places like Baku, and more so to work in the lucrative oil and gas industry in the region. So ti's mostly the elderly population who are left behind and who keep local crafts and traditions alive. (Lahic/ Lahij, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017) |
