| 説明 | En route from Freyburg to Weimar for the day. This restaurant was run by the local Landwirtschaftliche Produktionsgenossenschaft , or Agricultural Co-operative. Eating eisbein (Pig's hoof) inside with us was a patrol of the People's Police, the Volkspolizei. Another form of canteen culture, I guess. It seemed very odd, just as police behind the iron curtain always seemed to be smoking on duty. In the slide (ORWO black and white UP15) is a Simson motorbike, made in Suhl, GDR.The LPG Gemuseproduktion (vegetable collective farm) is called Tal des Friedens..Peace Valley. The location of the LPB is Kremsdorf which is a little to the NW of Wiegendorf - Schwabsdorf where this restaurant existed - and still does in 2019! - on the route 87, now with much faster and heavier traffic than 1990.
