| 説明 | tragopogon dubius ~ an introduced biennial weed from Europe. Hairless, hollow stems contain a milky joice and may reach 3 feet in height. The narrow, stalkless leaves are 5-6 inches long and clasp the stem. Each stem has one flower head surrounded by a single row of ten to fourteen bracts that are longer than the flowers, which are composed of yellow ra flowers only. The flowers are closed on cloudy days and on sunny days they follow the sun from morning until they close again in midafternoon. The mature flower forms a conspicuous globe of whitish pappus hairs attached to seeds that blow away in the wind like dandelion seeds.Common weed of roadsides, fields, and waste areas. |
