Small capital required.John Imthurn, Juliaetta, IdahoThe Vegetarian Magazine, published by the Vegetarian Society of America, was first issued in October 1896. The magazine was originally published at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, but is believed to have moved to Juliaetta around 1921 or 1922. The last known issue of this magazine was published in January 1926.John Imthurn, the sender of this postal cover, was born December 20, 1866, in Ohio, the son of Martin Imthurn and Sophia (Weisser) Imthurn. John passed away on September 29, 1952, at Lewiston, Nez Perce County, Idaho; he is interred at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston. Imthurn is enumerated in the 1920 federal census for Juliaetta where he is listed as a 53 year old divorced white male whose occupation is farming.The recipient of this registered mail was the Hardie Manufacturing Company. This company was headquartered in Hudson, Lenawee County, Michigan, and had sales office throughout the United States, including Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. The company manufactured Hardie Sprayers, which were used to spray orchards with pesticides, as well as orchard ladders.Copyright 2017. Some rights reserved.
